Spring Launch Recap Video

We officially have a video to share with friends and family on the process of making this community garden come to life to the public on April 27, 2013. So enjoy the next four minutes of jumping into what has been our life for the past few months. Follow us, save it, share it, tweet about it, make it go viral, we would be absolutely ecstatic! A huge thanks to Chase Castor, Andrea Larson, and David Matthew Fiser for their creative efforts in making this video possible. We love creative people with a heart for grass roots movements. Enjoy!

Spring Launch 2013

Saturday came and went, and our hearts are full and thankful for all the hands involved in making this opening day happen. Despite the light drizzle, we got things going early morning and set up just in time for the first group of people to show up. A tour of the garden was provided and it ended with the entrance to the event site where all the raffle and activities booths were located. The kids had a blast painting their own plant pots and getting their faces painted. We had some big raffle prizes that several people entered throughout the day. Hope Faith Ministries and Ante Meridiem had booths set up as well, supporting our event and their own services. Mike Cillessen, president of the Board of Directors at Hope Faith, spoke at the beginning and announced the exciting news that the land where the garden site resides was officially donated to Hope Faith Ministries on him and his colleague, Tim Clemon's, behalf. We enjoyed music from She's A Keeper and offered a variety of dishes from El Tenador and Jazzy B's food truck. We had several community members come out and support our cause and we could not be more happy with how the day turned out. We could not have prepared the garden for Saturday's event without the generous help of Kappa Alpha from William Jewell College. We truly appreciate the hard labor and man power they have provided us throughout the semester. We are so blessed to have so many people on board with our vision. A huge thanks to all supporters!
